Edmar M. Amaya, LL.M. (Principal)

The founder of EDAMLAW, Edmar M. Amaya holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from FIU, a Juris Doctor, and a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property, Commerce, and Technology from University of New Hampshire. 

He has practiced law since 2009, and is a member of the Florida bar, the Southern District Court of Florida, the Federal Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. 

In addition to patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution, he has represented clients in trademark, copyright, trade secret, and patent litigation throughout the United States and the US Patent and Trademark Office. 

He is also an inventor with six issued patents in his name in a wide range of technologies. He has represented many new businesses, starting from an idea, all the way to the creation of franchises through Florida and Mexico and South America. 

He also practices in immigration court, family court, and litigates in civil circuit and county court in Florida.

Richard C. Wolfe, LL.M. (Of Counsel)

Richard Wolfe is highly regarded in the music, television, and film industries for his knowledge and expertise in entertainment and business law. 

Richard’s entertainment law practice (transaction and litigation) includes film, television, and music; business planning; intellectual property; probate litigation, royalty disputes, copyright claims and artist/athlete endorsement contracts, probate and trust litigation, and business litigation. He has tried cases in state and federal courts in Florida, New York, Tennessee, Texas, and California. 

Richard earned a Juris Doctor and LL.M. from the University of Miami School of Law and spent 10 years working as a Certified Public Accountant. Building on his achieving the highest rating (AV) from Martindale-Hubbell, he is board certified in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar.

Donald R. Jones, (Of Counsel)

Donald Jones practices law in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability and workers compensation. From 1989 – 1992, Mr. Jones worked was an assistant state attorney with Janet Reno at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida. 

As a prosecutor, he developed his skills as a trial attorney successfully litigating hundreds of bench and jury trials. He is rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell. This is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards from members of the Bar and the Judiciary. Mr. Jones has received this recognition continuously since early in his career.

Martin S. Simkovic (Of Counsel)

A veteran litigator with over 20 years of experience, Simkovic focuses his practice on complex contract and real estate disputes, shareholder disputes, creditor’s rights and post-judgment enforcement and defense, insurance coverage disputes and litigation, banking litigation, prosecution and defense of foreclosure claims, defamation and libel law, trade secret litigation, prosecution and defense of commercial tort claims and personal injury claims.

Simkovic has been a shareholder in the Litigation Department at Stearns Weaver P.A. in Miami and for the last nine years at Simkovic law firm. 

He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law for four years teaching Legal Research and Writing. Simkovic received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University and his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami Law School.
